Albany State hoops lay the smack down on Kentucky State, 84-56

The Golden Rams men’s basketball team snapped their 5-game losing streak after defeating the Kentucky State Thorobreds (84-56) at the ASU West Campus Arena on Monday afternoon. 
 
The Golden Rams improved to (5-6) overall and (3-3) in the SIAC.  The Golden Rams improved to (5-3) at home.  The Thorobreds fell to (2-7) overall and (0-6) in the SIAC. 
 
The Golden Rams led by as many as 30 points and held the lead for nearly 39 minutes over the Thorobreds.
 
A total of 5 players scored in double figures for the Golden Rams.  Blaise Wallace led the Golden Rams with 17 points and 14 rebounds.  Shakur Poteat finished with 16 points and 6 rebounds.  Javian Johnson came off the bench to score 16 points.  Cameron Evans contributed with 15 points.  Andy Antoine added 14 points and 3 rebounds for the Golden Rams.
 
Josiah Mitchell led the Thorobreds with 16 points.  Ogien Ayo finished with 11 points and 10 rebounds.
 
The Golden Rams will be back in action against Clayton State University at 3:00 pm at the ASU West Campus Arena on Saturday, December 30.
